Thing 1 and 2 ShirtsHow dope are those shirts? The best part is that you can make them yourself, and they won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Here’s what you’ll need to make these shirts:

  • Plain red t-shirt
  • White felt
  • Blue vinyl or felt
  • Black fabric paint
  • White t-shirt transfer paper (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun or fabric glue

Here are the steps:

  1. Cut out a white circle from the white felt. The size of the circle depends on the size of your t-shirt. It should be slightly larger than the person’s chest measurement.
  2. Cut out the letters “THING 1” or “THING 2” from the blue vinyl or felt. You can do this by hand or use a cutting machine like a Cricut or Silhouette.
  3. Glue the letters onto the white circle using a glue gun or fabric glue.
  4. Glue the white circle onto the front of the red t-shirt using a glue gun or fabric glue.
  5. Using black fabric paint, draw a squiggly line around the edge of the white circle to create the “hair” of Thing 1 or Thing 2.
  6. If you want to use transfer paper, print out the image of Thing 1 or Thing 2 onto the transfer paper and iron it onto the back of the t-shirt. Make sure to follow the instructions on your transfer paper.
  7. Wear your new shirt and show off your love for the mischievous Things!

Easy, right? And the best part is that you can customize these shirts however you want. You can use different colors, add glitter or rhinestones, or even make them long-sleeved for colder weather.
